We have all invested untold hours and a lot of money in our collections. Over the years, the collecting, study and preservation of political memorabilia has truly become a labor of love for each of us. Like all other major investments, we should all hopefully realize our collections should be insured against loss or damage. Its a scary thought, but a fire, flood or home robbery could, in one instance, take away the years of money and time we have each dedicated.

It has become more difficult and/or expensive to find insurance coverage from our homeowner insurer or other insurance companies. Most require independent appraisals, which can be expensive and difficult to obtain. Try explaining to an unskilled homeowners adjuster what a jugate is, or why a celluloid button is worth more than a larger, more decorative piece of china.
